I don't even use it any more, but I always get pop-ups on it! What is a good reliable program to get rid of the crap in my computer? I know not to delete it, but it is so frustrating to be interrupted every 2 seconds by some stupid pop-up!
I have ad-aware, but that can't delete the things that are messing up my computer. It's very frustrating! Please help, and I appreciate your answers.

I guess I should have changed the question to: How can I get all the spyware off of my computer?

Ad-aware or whatever only deletes some of it.

Here are program I use that will give you 100% protection. Ofcourse you must also have all your critical updates installed from Microsoft.

I use the free zone alarm firewall for many years. Excellent with free updates and all new versions free. Protects you from rouge incoming packets and keeping your private data from leaving your pc.

http://www.zonealarm.com Download their free home for personal use.

Antivirus program I use. You only pay a one time fee of $29.99. and you get all updates and all new versions for life.

Read the webpage and if you like what you read this is the antivirus of choce I have used for over ten years and never one virus.

By culture the Chinese are very secret just about everything and that includes their software.

This antivirus program out of Beijing, China that is also used by the Government of China.

This antivirus program does not have the Govt. permission to be rated with all other known antivirus programs.

What I can assure you is that you pay only a one time fee for life that will include all auto updates, and all new versions for life. The Chinese don't believe in having to pay an annual fee for updates or new versions.

I can tell you their technology is light years ahead of any other known antivirus software out there.

If you open a webpage and there is a hidden virus it will clean in realtime. Anything that you download and has even a trace code, it will kill the download and ask you to upload the trace code for investigation. In real time the upload will tell you if it is clean or not.

Will not allow you download, Real Player, because there is a hidden file that is a trojan keylogger. The file was uploaded and traced back to the United States Army, Intelligence Services out of London, England. (Removal of the file Real Player will reject the installation).

Read for yourself at their webpage. I have never had one virus in ten plus years. Plus it will catch any progam with it's dynamic defense system, for software that you download and it does not have a publisher or lic., included.

I garanDAMNtee my answers and will even help you personally if need be. ad aware is pretty much useless. Your problem will not be a problem at all.
Here's what you need to do.
1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, avast, panda, kaspersky, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. This is elite software. It blocks over 174,500 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, after you install and update the software, since its in your system you will have to turn off system restore and then go into safe mode and run the scan and eliminate the virus. then after removal, reboot and turn system restore back on.
4th, (Optional) I recommend a Firewall from Zone Alarm, their free version is so good. Or you can buy their Pro version, but the free version will do more than the job.
5th, any probs during or after you do all this, send me an e-mail.

Firefox or Netscape for browsing. Also try Spybot Search & Destroy. It's a bit different than Ad-Aware but does almost the same thing, and in some repects is better. You can also do the tried an true ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task manager. Click on the Processes tab, then the Image Name column to sort, and take a peek at what's running on your computer. Many of the programs are integral to either WIndows or your peripherals (printer, DVD or CD drive, etc.) but some are not. Write down the names of the ones you are not sure about, then type them one at a time into a search engine such as google or yahoo to find out about them. More than likely you will find one or more spyware programs, and a remedy for them.

Get SpyBot Search & Destroy to safely remove spyware. Best of all, it’s free. After installing it, immunize the computer against over 18,000 known pieces of spyware. Then run a full bot check and remove everything it finds using the Fix Selected Problems tab. Keep it updated and run it weekly to keep your computer free of this stuff.

You said you already had Ad-Aware, but you must keep it updated for it to be effective. And you should run a Smart Scan daily.

If you aren't using Internet Explorer, why are you getting popups on it? You surely don't need both browsers, do you? Why don't you disable IE: go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and when the list loads, on the left click on Add/Remove Windows Components. When that list loads, find Internet Explorer and remove the checkmark by it. Then close the control panel and restart the computer. If you ever want IE back, just reverse the steps above.

With as many IE7 system faults as I've heard approximately, particularly frankly IE6 is a extra risk-free browser. :-P But, losing the editorializing and getting in your query ... If you uninstall IE7 (Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs), your pc will roll itself again to IE6. And sure, you'll be able to nonetheless be equipped to get on-line. Another likelihood is to down load the cutting-edge loose variation of Firefox. But considering it appears like IE7 has tousled your connection, you must get that constant first. Still a further likelihood: do a method repair to a factor earlier than you downloaded the cutting-edge circular of updates. That will have to get IE7 operating once more. Then, whilst Windows as soon as once more presents you the updates, use the Custom mode and decline the replace for IE7. Hope that is helping. Good success!

I highly suggest downloading and using the Mozilla Firefox browser, since I switched from Internet Explorer..I've had no problems with my machine.

www.download.com has free programs you download to get rid of spyware. I use Spybot Search and Destroy along with EZ Pest Patrol, and I have Avast as an antivirus. All work well with me.
