internet explorer crashed. I restarted, got a message that said NTSF...dirty files...& deleted my modem! Why?

It also over rided Norton Antivirus. Are there know Trojans out there that do this?

registry errors will do this. http://www.iobit.com will help fix and restore your pc good luck. its free.

Try safe mode and system restore.

Ps. Norton is not very reliable. It was one of the worst anti-virus program I used.
I would strongly recommend if you do reformat. Install bitdefender or Kaspersky. Two of the best anti-virus programs out there.
