I am currently running Virgin security & AVG but neither of these have or can disinfect Contra Virus.

ContraVirus is a fake anti-spyware program that is often downloaded and installed without user knowledge or consent by a Trojan or through browser security holes. ContraVirus launches on Windows startup and may generate large numbers of popup adverts. ContraVirus will also display notifications of imaginary security risks in its attempts to get the user to purchase the full version. ContraVirus program can be extremely difficult to remove manually, and will continue to try to recreate itself. ContraVirus is thought to be related to VirusBlaster.
you need spyware not antivirus try the antispyware from avg...yes they are different

Contra Virus means Against Virus. It is not a virus, if you have that software installed, you can remove it by using add/remove programs inside control panel.

Go to this line that I am going to give you and run what is known has an "online scanner", from Kaspersky Lab of Russia, rated # 1 in the world for virus detection.
Scan may take upto two hours depending on how many running processes you have and how many programs you have installed.
Will kill the virus in real time when found. After the completed scan, I suggest that you reboot your system.

go on line do a google search or a net search for the name of the virus it will let you know how to get rid of it or find a removal tool. Try going to the control panel and use add and remove programs.

contra virus is another antivirus program, not a virus, thats why other antivirus programs dont find it as a virus, go check out http://www.contra-virus.com/
