I have to give my old labtop to another employee but I have a lot of websites (email, etc) that have autofill on them and they automatically fill in my password once my id is put in. I don't recall all of them offhand and I have to turn it over tomorrow. Any ideas? Thanks.

I cannot download any patches for my machine, so does this mean my machine is not affected by any of the new vunerabilities?

I know the simple answer is to upgrade, however this is not an option as some of my programs do not work with SP2.

Any advice on this would be grand. thanks

I hadn't used my Compaq desktop computer to get online for some time now because my laptop has been doing quite well, but my power source is dead on my laptop until I can get a replacement part in a couple of days. So I was configuring my desktop computer's settings to get online, and some weird message came on that made me think there was spyware on the computer. So I ran AdAware SE, and that and my Norton's Antivirus program dug up about four spyware files.

I never have any problems on my laptop, which runs Windows XP, and I also have automatic updates configured for Norton on my laptop and run AdAware at least every other day. But when the message popped up on my desktop computer, I was curious about whether or not Windows ME has a firewall built in like XP does. I looked in the Control Panel, but couldn't find anything. Does ME have a firewall built in, and if so, how can I make sure it's turned on?

I suspect my friend is fooling me by chatting with me as two different individuals from two chat ids, but from the same computer. How can I find out that the messages from both the persons, who chat with me at different times, are sent from the same computer??

The display unexpectantly becomes duller, & the font becomes larger (making parts of the desktop run off the screen). This has happened while starting up, or a short while after Windows has finished loading.

I've hit ctrl+alt+del when Windows is starting up to see running applications, and this is an incomplete list of what I get:

Rtvscn95
Scanregw
Taskmon
Loadqm
Vptray
Qttask
Rundll32
Update manager

Not all of the above list show up at the same time. And most don't show up after Windows finishes starting up (the creaking sound the computer makes to say its busy).

I've got Norton (with the latest updates), but running a virus-scan didn't get rid of the problem.

What do you think the underlying problem is? Is it a virus? And how can I fix it (hopefully without loosing my files)?

I did read your question, but I don't have a good answer to it. Sorry.)
