A couple weeks ago, I downloaded some windows updates and I got some trojan viruses on my computer showing up right after that. Now I've gotten rid of them. However, my boyfriend had to register windows because he recently reinstalled it. When he did that, he got the same crap showing up on his computer that was on mine. I've heard that you should never let your pc download updates automatically, that you should make sure you ok it first because at one point in time, someone had hacked into the windows site and made it so when you downloaded updates, you were getting a virus at the same time. Has anyone else had this problem with windows or does anyone know about a virus coming from the site?

the only difference between my messages and the fakes, is that mine prefix +44, but the fakes dont and begin with 0798...(my number)

my yonger brother 12 yrs goes on sites that are too old for him and then loads stuff that i do not want on my PC. I know that one can change the internet connection so that the PC asks for a password before intering all R18 sites. How do i get that right. 10 points to the best answer.

I have several pop-ups that say that I am infected with a "back door" trojan and spyware (it takes me to a "pestsweepter" or sth like that software that I should download 'immidiately')
I've checked the control panel - add&remove software, but I just can't find the spyware and my Norton Antivirus, licensed and all, hasn't found the trojan...can you help me get rid of the pop-ups...please???

What are the chances of receiving your money back if a money has been taken out of your account (through betting) over the internet? Is it easy to poove that it wasnt you? What's to say that it wasnt you in another part of the country? I just dont see it as clear cut. My girlfriend has lost quite a bit of money because of this. The bank has said 'fill a form in and if we can proove it wasnt you, you'll receive the money back'. What process do they go through to check this?

To cause of my question is I installed a new firewall , and its telling me that explorer requires is trying to open some ports. I can see why explorer would need access, as I only use it to browse my machine. Am I doind harm in blocking them.... or worse still could somebody be hacking me , and browsing my machine

Once I reset the CMOS, and Password switches (jumper switch ..VectraXE310 Series2 ) I am prompted to return jumper switches back to normal position and to restart the computer.
Upon restarting the computer and proceeding I am prompted to enter password, but the password is presumably reset. What can I do????????
