I askd a qn like an hour ago regarding my laptop problem n i received some good suggestions..
But the problem is most suggest that i get rid of one of my anti-virus program..i have 2(avg n norton)..but norton is on a 15-day trial..

But the thing is, whenever i go control panel to remove it,
softwares like norton n zone alarm..i can't seem to delete it..my com will process it fer awhile and then jus hang like that.

Hang as in the control panel...i need to click the task manager to close it n open again..n cycle goes over n over
But at the same time, i can do other things like surfing the web but it of course it lags.

Pls...if anyone have a detailed ans to my query...i'll appreciate it alot..

the email would have a virus attached to some fake image or whatever attachment.
well, do i get infected just by opening the email? by reading it?

I need a really good, free spyware removal program. I've tried spysweeper, and adaware. They didn't fix the problems. Pop ups are locking up my computer, I get 12 of them right away as soon as I open internet, plus its making my computer run super slow. Its my work computer so I need it running at peak performance. I know its some sort of spy program that was installed to my computer through the net somehow, but I can't find it. Please help!

I ran a scan recently and it said i had the W32/Downloader virus. My anti-virus deleted it, then it came back. My anti-virus is freedom. I dont get any pop-ups (knock on wood) but if the reason im getting this virus because i download music from places like LimeWire and Kazza? I did download after I ran the first scan, so Im guessing thats what caused it, im not too good with computers so bear with me if this is a stupid question.

When I open internet explorer its only a matter of time before everything just poofs......and closes with no warning! its a tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bit irritating. Can anyone please tell me how to remove the virus without paying tons of money! Thanks for any suggestions.

Let's say you have a windows XP machine and you scan you administrator account for viruses and spyware, will all of the other user profile that I made be scanned too and if it does will it remove it too? Do I have to scan each user profile individually? Also if the other user profile caught a virus/spyware, will my administrator profile and other users be affected too? And how can I set my folders to be private? My windows XP won't allow me to check the checkbows that allows you to set ur file to private.. Thanks to all who replies !

I was prompted to download an update to enable me to view a video. It keeps warning me of possible viruses. I managed to get rid of some of it but everytime i open my homepage it goes to "iesafetywarning.com" and i get warned about the W32.Myzor virus although I'm sure my pc is clean. Only sensible answers PLEASE!

If there are any whatsoever, in what way and what are those? Do internet sales transactions have something to do about these. i've uninstalled Google in Add/Remove programs, there is nothing more to delete or uninstall from that, and I tried that one site recommended called Prevx1 and it found nothing on the initial scan.
Tools doesn't help either.
What can I do to delete it?

I can't figure it out. I use the Mcafee to find a virus and it still does this weird thing. It found two and I got rid of them but the problem persists. It will place lines and make weird noises in my email program until I hit enter on my keyboard? Anyone?

I know very well how to remove programs using the "Add or Remove" feature in the Control Panel. Unfortunately, the only McAfee program that shows up there is the McAfee Security Center and it cannot be removed unless "...you unistall all other McAfee programs first" NO OTHER MCAFEE PROGRAMS SHOW UP UNDER THE "ADD OR REMOVE" PROGRAM and I know I shouldn't just delete them in Windows Explorer. I have hated McAfee for a long time because their program seems to take over your computer.
