If you have no anti-virus app currently, just how did you get a warning that you have a trojan. Sounds like an spyware advertising scam to me!
Anyway, to your question....
Personally, I like AOL AntiVirusShield. Don't let the name AOL scare you. AntiVirusShield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.
In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, AntiVirusShield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.

AOL AntiVirusShield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources. (6mb)
And it updates 15 to 20 times a day with new virus definitions, 7 days a week.
Free to anyone, AOL member or not from:

Good luck

The popup may be from your currently installed anti-virus program. SOMETHING told you you have a problem. It may have "nipped it in the bud" already... To see if the problem persists do this:
Go to.... http://safety.live.com/site/en-US/default.htm
This is the Windows Safety Center. Do the full scan. It may take a couple of hours. MANY things are checked for, not just the trojan.
They also provide a free 90 day full protection trial service if you are interested. It is excellent.
The AVG antivirus services are free however, and are very good.
Be sure to activate the Windows firewall if you are using XP! (look under START>CONTROL PANEL)

Try mcafee 10-1 protection its a great anti-virus program and even has a site rater so you can stay safer on the net. It might cost from $40-60 but way worth it. Gives 3,1 year trials so your friends or relatives can use it also

The two most comon programs are Norton and mcafee. They should work just fine, and both are about the same. One is not really better than the other. Pick up a program and install it, do a scan and get rid of it. Trojan's are bad!
