If you need to legitimately study, you can always request that the network administrators unblock legitimate academic sites.
Note: porn sites and MySpace are not required to study efficiently.

If there are sites you need to get to for schoolwork purposes, and you keep finding that they are blocked, your best bet is to ask your school's computer people about unblocking the sites. I recommend against using proxy sites, for two reasons:
1) It might not do you any good, since they could easily already be blocked - as you've already noticed.
2) If you get caught using a proxy, you could find yourself in big trouble. In using a proxy, essentially what you're doing is trying to break school rules on the sly. And you're putting your school computer priviliges in jeopardy. Trust me, you're better off not going there.
Again, if the sites you need to get to are truly school-related, it's worth a try to ask the school's computer people about unblocking them. However, if it's games, pr0n, or MySpace, don't bother. :-)
Just make sure to ask nicely. Best of luck.
