I was prompted to download an update to enable me to view a video. It keeps warning me of possible viruses. I managed to get rid of some of it but everytime i open my homepage it goes to "iesafetywarning.com" and i get warned about the W32.Myzor virus although I'm sure my pc is clean. Only sensible answers PLEASE!

What you thought was a codec to watch some video, was actually a ruse. A scam if you will. It was not a codec at all. (The video would have played fine without that " Codec")! What you actually downloaded was a Trojan called "Zlob".

This trojan then "phoned home" and installed the"iesafetywarning.com" adware on your computer with out your knowledge.

There is no such "real" virus as Myzor.fk@yf as you are seeing. It is a scam to attempt to get you to purchase a rogue malware removal product. The popup about Myzor is false, phony and fradulant.

Your computer has a Smitfraud infection now, which is a very difficult one to remove. Most "all-purpose" anti-virus and anti-spyware programs (such as have been recommended to you) can only remove the original Trojan Zlob which caused the infection and not the infection itself.

This Smitfraud infection usually requires a specialized removal procedure and removal tools. Here are 2 links for information and free removal software.

Unfortunately, new variants of this pest seem to be launched every few days, so the removal information that I gave you is always playing "catch-up". If the procedure won't work for you, keep checking back to the sites I gave you. In a few days they may have updated the procedure and / or tools.

And please, never download anything unless you 1000% know and trust from where you are downloading from!

Another free removal tool for you to try. This one is call RogueFix. Tool and full infomation are here:

Go and buy yourself Norton Symantec anti virus software and install it, then run a full system scan this should find any virus and adware bug's on your computer and if it does find something it will remove it for you as well,, the old rule is only download software from trusted websites no matter how tempting the offer may sound.

I have searched for several hours and trust me, this is how.

Get the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal from the URL above, install it and run it. Check everything for cleaning. It will prompt you that one of the infected files cannot be deleted since it is used by another program or person, and it will offer you and option to scan your comp. after reboot. Use this option, and then reboot.

After reboot it will automatically scan your comp again, prior to the full upload of the windows. Check again everything for cleaning and you are free of this pain in the ***.

download spyware blaster
spybot s & d (immunize your computer, protect the homepage)
run tea timer from spybot to protect your registry
ad aware
avg (anti virus)

i think i know what may have happened. don't download stuff from a site to view a video. if it says you need "flash" then google flash and download these things from official sites.

download the klite codec pack and the vlc player and you'll be able to view anything.

I know this,u were tryin to view a porn video, and u've downloaded the intel codec pack !!
It is utter waste,it'll actually download and automatically install a spyware software that won't uninstall and cannot be deleted !!
Use adawaresepersonal which is free and will automatically delete it !

Get it here for free ....

go to www.trendmicro.com and run their free virus scan just to be sure. If it comes up clean, i would say you have collected spyware. If you do not have software to scan for spyware you can download it free at lavasoft.com. Good Luck!

W32.Myzor is not real. It is a decoy trying to focus you attention on removing and leaving the real culprit alone.

Both the iesafetywarning.com and Myzor is the result of a Smitfraud Trojan. Use one or both of these sites to remove the Smitfraud.
