i want to set up a password on my pc so when it is started it prompts for a password and then windows starts to load and then users can log onto their own profiles? i am using xp pro os system. thanks

Go to start>control panel>user accounts> add a new account> follow instructions. Then click your own name and click add a password.

I think that your talking about a BIOS log in. Some BIOSs accept this. Try running setup when you next boot your machine (usually F2 or ) and have a look through the setup options, you might find something useful. Just be careful that you don't change anything important!!!

you can go to user accounts where you can change your user settings. You can also give ur account a password which will be asked b4 u can log onto ur account.

Set up the computer, so that it remembers your password each time you log in. You don't have the hassle of forgetting it then. When it asks you if you want to "Remember this password to your computer", say YES.

You need to enter the BIOS or SYSTEM..Usually need to press F2, F12, or DEL when the comp is starting BEFORE windows starts to load.

computer administrater
on this page u'll have create password.... and other stuff.... u can browse through them and change at will... theres also an option sumwhere that lets u choose what u want ur guests to view and be able to use.. etc.. like internet and programs and stuff...
