Three things:

1) Don't reply to any spam e-mails, click on any links, or click on any pop-ups asking you to sign up for any spyware removal products or services - especially if they're asking for money up front. If is extremely likely that these are scams which will actually get your computer infected with spyware. It could even lead to identity theft!

2) Make sure your own system is clean. There are a number of reliable legitimate anti-spyware products, even some free ones. Lavasoft Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search & Destroy are two good free ones. Also, make sure your computer has anti-virus software AND that it's updated.

3) If your computer turns out to have a spyware infection which your cleaning product won't remove, get in touch with an online forum that specializes in helping people get spyware off of their computers. Two that I'm familiar with are aumha.org and spywarewarrior.com; there are plenty of others around, though.

If you end up contacting an online forum for help, please make sure that you follow their instructions to the letter. That helps them to help you and helps get your machine taken care of faster.

Hope all turns out to be well. Best of luck!

Here is a top list of free antispyware

Spybot S&D
Windows Defender
Ad Aware Se Personal
AVG Antispyware 7.5
SuperAntispyware

If you don't have any antispyware protection, use Windows Defender for
real time protection.

If you need a firewall, use ZoneAlarm Firewall free.It is good.I
tested against Norton(paid) and this is better.

Download Spyware Doctor(Trial version) and do a scan to see what is
on your PC and try to remove as many as possible with the free
antispyware i listed.Spyware Doctor WILL produce false positives
to encourage you to buy it but is not a rogue antispyware program.
Clean your PC as much as you can.And run Spyware Doctor's scan again.
If it detects 3 or less, you are clear. Those are false positives.

Go to www.ewido.com for free scan and removal.

Remember, just like antivirus, run only one antispyware's real time protection and
not both at the same time.

Firewall:RUN ONLY ONE
Antivirus:RUN ONLY ONE
Antispyware:As many as you want,but i recommend 2 is enough.But if
you are a paranoid like me,install as many free software as you can.
But it may slow down your PC.

If when you open up internet explorer it goes to a site selling anti spyware automaticaly, you have a virus. What happened is the people selling the product infected your computer so you will buy thier product to get rid of the virus. Sneaky, right? I use AVG free software to get rid of those types of viruses,

try software like ad-aware for spyware removal, then zone labs zonealarm for a firewall, and ccleaner for misc. file cleanup. All free, and I use them and have kept my system very clean.
