I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

Somehow i doubt it's a virus. All you need is to remove it from Firefox 2. Click Tools, Add-ons, Select Extension on top of screen, scroll down list to find Search This, Click on it and you will have 2 choices: Disable and Uninstall. More word of advice, do not have 2 or more antivirus apps running on your pc at the same time because it will slow down your pc, create conflict and may crash it. Uninstall all your anti-virus apps and pick only one to run.

Don't use FireFox as your browser then!

Or go to Tools/ad-ons and uninstall the addon with the problem.

Why not just remove firefox, reboot, download the newest version and install it.

If you have all of those 'programs' running and they aren't blocking it, then it will be faster to just remove firefox.
