Do i run antivirus and anti spyware programs there?
Are they better to run in safe mode?
What else is safe mode for??

The safemode admin is also passworded, and nothing that could potentially screw up the computer. I need to get onto my son's computer and he is somewhat more computer savvy than I. Please Help

ok, my windows bar says i'm infected. i use two separte anti spyware programs, and neither will get rid of the trojan. they will find them, so i delete them, but it always comes back. also, i think it might be screwing with my background, because i cant change it from a solid blue. how can i get rid of it?

I want to delete temporary cookies, so I went to Tools and chose Internet Options as I usually do,
but this time it says I can't access it due to restrictions on my computer and I should contact my administrator - what's that all about? This is my own computer and I'm the only person ever to use it!
How do I sort this out please?

as in, "must have at least one number" ... "cannot have other characters" ... "must be changed every six months"... "must have at least 9 characters"... and so on. Can't they just trust me to make up one password I can remember instead of having 12 that I have to write down?

i dunno how but my home page used to be yahoo.co.uk and now its changed to iesafetywarning.com?? i've gone into internet options and tried to change it back but it still keeps coming up as my home page! I'm really worried about it...i've downloaded a malware remover from microsoft but i still cant get rid...help!!

I've got some sort of virus that has stopped my windows media player from working and I can't get to my Task Manager. It have been messing up my explorer connection when I tried to log into Yahoo mail.

So I got a bunch of free anti virus/anti spyware programs and ran them. None of those did anything. Now, all of the sudden I can't get to the internet via my computer (although I can still use Xbox live so I know the juices are flowing through the cable so to speak). It says I have "Limited or no connectivity" or something like that. Right now I'm using my computer at work.

Could this be the virus or could it be a firewall blocking the internet connection entirely or what? Any advice?

I would like to find out if there's a way I can make sure the pc Im renting out stays where it should be. I dont want to invade my clients privacy, I would just like to protect myself against loss should the client decide to move without telling me.....

My computer comes on, ask me to load my settings, and even sometimes will let me get to the internet if im fast enough. Then bam, nothing it freezes, the arrow wont move nothing. Now my boyfriend downloaded Internet explorer and we have Verizon DSL so why he did it, I don't know, but Im wondering could that be the problem. Then he mentioned something about an adware virus.
