i need to be able to password-lock a folder on the computer i use since it's public and i need privacy...help!

Windows XP Professional has built in security management (NTFS). Right click on the folder and select "Sharing and Security". From there, restrict permissions based on user.

You could compress the folder and then place a password on it. So right click on your desktop, new compressed folder, the ndrag and drop your stuff into that folder. After that right click Double-click the compressed folder. On the File menu, click Add a Password. In the Password box, type a password.
In the Confirm Password box, type the password again.

I do not know how to add a password to a regular folder though

there are different methods depending on what operating system you are using and how you hard drive is formatted. if you drive is formatted using NTFS you can deny permissions to that folder for everyone except yourself. unauthorized users will not be able to even read the contents of that folder let alone access any files it contains...

You can use a product called magic folders. not only will it lock it, it can hide it from prying eyes.

you're tremendously lots screwed... attempt something noted as more advantageous zip restoration Google it and it would permit you already know the thank you to do it and or receive it (in case you haven't any longer have been given it already) on your OS
