You will not get a virus from the files on the Yahoo! Games page. If this was the case, then Yahoo most definitely wouldn't be the reputable place that it is.

However, if you are worried, if you have an up-to-date virus scanner, it will more than likely catch anything that you might happen to download.

But if you're into Yahoo! Games, Diner Dash is really fun.

First... The games may be on Yahoo, BUT they are supplied by many different companies, as shown when you open the "web" games.

As to downloading, you may or may not pick up a virus in the process; HOWEVER, you are more apt to pick up various "ad-ware" from the various companies, advertising their particular games. NOTE: even microsoft windowsXP has a "built-in" advertising program in the OS that "reports" back to microsoft, (most spyware programs list it as a moderate threat.)

If you have a "real-time" virus scanner that checks ALL incoming files, and IF it is a good one, it should catch most if not all viruses that attempt to "sneak" in.

I do not download many games, but in 20+ years have only picked up 1 virus doing so. I have found that you are more apt to pick up a virus if you "borrow" a home-made program disc from a "friend".

Hope this information helps.

You can get a virus just by having a live Internet connection .... you don't even need to have an opened browser to get infected.

That said, so long as you are using a good anti virus program & regularly updating its defenition files .... you should be fine.

It is possible. But you insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
Then you go for the proposed downloading.
