i hooked up different hard drives from around the house with windows installed on them, that work fine in other computers, but once i hook it up to my computer it just gives me the blue screen of death. but once i hook up a hard drive with linux on it, it works just fine?

Why am I getting different reading for my CPU temperature in the BIOS compared to programs that monitor CPU temp?

I've downloaded 3 programs and they all give me the same temp for my CPU but my BIOS give me a temp a little higher.


Whats a more reliable reading: program monitors or the BIOS reading?

My printer does not read the ink color properly. When I inserted the BJ black ink Cartridge, when I started printing will read its a photo/colored ink, instead of black ink. What are the solutions? does it need to reinstall the driver? its a hardware problem? pls help

I have a 2002 cicero pentium 4 with upgraded RAM cards.

I recently ( 3 hours ago ) received this PCgamer magazine that included some nifty donwloadable demos for games like Call Of Duty 4, Crysis, Unreal Tournament.But I can't play any of these demos because, as they say, my graphics card isn't good enough.

I have two options.

1. Take out my RAM cards out of my PC, sell my PC, buy a new one and install my RAM cards in that one.

2. Buy and install a graphics card.


How much would each option cost, if all I want is to be able to play the recently published video games and those that are soon to be published like COD, Unreal and etc.

TO SUMMARIZE: How much would each option cost if I want to play the top-tech video games that are going to come out this winter and even later on.

I have a HP Photosmart C4280 scanner/copier/printer All-in-One, and the scanner is terrible! The printer and copier is good, but I need a scanner.

I'm not looking for all-in-ones... just a scanner. I have a HP laptop, and I need suggestions badly. I'm not a millionare, so please don't suggest expensive ones.

The Dive C of my notebook has a capacity of 80Gb and when the properties is accessed, it shows a pie graph with 45Gb used but when individual subfolders under crive C is accessed its capacity used summed up only 15Gb.

At the first day of 5 hours use of my new notebook, i noticed its processor did not get so hot. But now after a couple of minutes, hottness is already felt.

My new notebook (NEO Impriva 672 RVP2) has the following relevant specifications: 2Ghz, Core 2 Duo processor, 4Mb cache, 160Gb Sata hard drive

Please advise me what to do.

I have added more RAM, updated to Norton 2008 virus protection, defrag, ran a registry clean up and tried spybot, but the computer is still slow. Can anyone please give me anymore ideas to speed up my slow computer.

is it true that vista will ask you for the key again if you add new hardware? Im planning to upgrade my computer alot and soon get a new case/ watercooling.
Im a little bit worried because I read a review about vista and someone said that they added 1 more fan and vista asked for key again, and he said it didnt work for some weird reason.

For some reason, my External Hard Drive won't turn on. I have a 500GB Western Digital. It was working just fine a few hours ago, but now, when I go to turn on my laptop, the green ring on the front won't light up. I tried two different outlets and two different computers. Looking to buy a Radeon 3850. I went to newegg.com, and they have hundreds of different kinds. Does it matter if its visiontek or diamond, or asus or whatever else there is; and some have more RAM than others, I assume it is always better to have more RAM. Does anything else make a difference?

Ok, first off, I have a Gateway 500 xl. This computer only has pci and agp grahics card slots. I was wondering, what will happen if I put a pci-e card in the agp slot. Is there anyway that this can mess up my computer. What will happen. If it works will a pci-e work better than an agp video card. Any help/insight you could give me would be greatly appriciated.
