when i play wow sometimes i'll be able to play it for as long as i want and other times it will kick me off the game, like freeze up or lag a lot. i have a pentium d processer, 2 processing cores, 1 GB of ram, an ATI radeon express 200 graphics card, and a pci epress slot. i have the wow video setting turned to its lowest and it still freezes and lags. i was thinking about getting a visionteck radeon 3870, i dont have enough for an 8800 gt. and another GB of ram, but i was wondering which one i should get first, the ram or the graphics card

After i switch my PC on i can hear the sound that it is running but does not display anything on the screen then after 10 or 20 seconds it goes down.

When i start to install win xp in my sony vaio VGN-FZ210CE NOTEBOOK it gives an error says that there is no hard drive known on my laptop so it doesnt recognize any hard drive on my laptop,but I work with its hard drive in vista,I also have its xp drivers

My ac adaptor for my dell inspiron 1520 doesnt work. like the wire that plugs into the wall doesnt fit all the way into the wire that plugs into my computer. please help me!!

also is there a way to talk to dell workers online like instant message?

I set my windows to shut down my monitor if i don't use my computer more than 5 mins (check out LocalCooling.com - It's a neat small software and you will realize why i did that)
As a result my Monitor turns off and on many times during the day (maybe 15 times or more) when i step away from my computer.
So i want to know if doing so will shorten my LCD monitor lifespan or harm it in anyways. I remember my mom used to always tell me as a kid not to repeatedly shut off and on our Sony 10 year old CRT TV all the time cause it reduces the lifetime of its light bulb. Is the same true about LCD monitors or TVs?

I've recieved a wireless laptop for Christmas and it has been set up for the internet. I already have a router for the PC and that works fine, but I can only access the internet on the laptop if I plug in the USB adaptor that we use for the PC. Do I need to do this if the laptop is wireless enabled? The shop assisstant at PC World said that I wouldn't need an adaptor because the laptop is wireless.

I just downloaded COD 4 on my laptop, which has Vista. When i try to play it, it always says:

I'm running XP Pro SP2. I currently have a working CD drive. I have a rewritable CD Drive in another computer, that I know works. If I install it in this computer & format the BIOS, does it need a disk to load the driver, or will the computer detect new hardware & function so I can burn CD's?

Is it possible the change the video card on my laptop? I recently bought a game but it won't run because my video card is not good enough. I haven't got a problem with buying a new video card but I've been told it's impossible or near enough to change it.

I am thinking to purchase a dell XPS M1530 laptop. I live in baroda,India. i wish to know if the technical support is good or not? I'm building a PC today, and I'm worried that I have installed the cpu incorrectly. (But i'm certain the pin1 and notches are in the right place). When I placed it in and gently nudged it, it moved slightly from side to side. I tried putting it in again, and still did it, so I assumed it was ok. Then when I put the latch down, it seemed stiffer than I expected (but it is my first time). The cpu seemed a bit off-centre, and i'm worried its broken. Any thoughts?

I bought a new PC (complete package). Till then whenever I boot the PC it beeps (long). The manual of gigabyte mobo (I've it) says if there is a continuous long beep it's a DRAM error. I have transcend 512 MB DDR2 (2 stick). I try to re-seat the RAM but it didn't work. I looked inside the chasis when the sound occurs; found out the cooling fan (I've Pentium pro) is trying to rotate (it is equal to the number of beep) while booting but fails. When the beep stops the fan can rotate non-stop. Can anyone help me? Many thanks.
