When i start to install win xp in my sony vaio VGN-FZ210CE NOTEBOOK it gives an error says that there is no hard drive known on my laptop so it doesnt recognize any hard drive on my laptop,but I work with its hard drive in vista,I also have its xp drivers

When you first start loading XP it will ask you to hit F6 ti install a third party driver. Have the driver I sent you the link for loaded on a media that your computer can read, Flop, CD, whatever. You will need to insert it when you hit F6. This will load your SATA driver that XP needs to see the drive. You do not need this for Vista.

When you first boot from the cd you will see an option to press F6 to manually load certain drivers. Youre going to need to do this. But your going to need to Download the drivers first. You may have to chat with sony support if you cant find the specific drivers you need. They could tell you which ones you need.

when you boot up the system go into the bios and see if it recognizes the hard drive? if it dose then you may have to fdisk the drive, this depends on what system you had installed on it before... meaning Vista, Linux., each Operating system has it's own hdd format.

try this, go to bios and set your sata operation on hdd to ata, save then exit. then, try xp reinstall again with cd boot.
