I Have A Laptop and my friend locked it so people could not enter now he gives me the wep key (the password)?

Try to get onto the net and it should ask the password then.

has to go into your software to run your wireless service

my LinkSys is the little green box in the Start Bar

click on the connect tab - then highlight his service (four of my neighbors have LInkSys) and change to WEP key -
then enter and press connect

all the best
