You may be to far away from the access point (your router), or your computer may not be able to use your adapter because there is no drivers installed for it to work. Get the disc that came with your network adapter and install it, if you've already have then uninstall it and reinstall it. ,sometimes reinstalling it works. Or your adapter could be damaged so it doesn't work that is all I can think of.
