is it true that vista will ask you for the key again if you add new hardware? Im planning to upgrade my computer alot and soon get a new case/ watercooling.
Im a little bit worried because I read a review about vista and someone said that they added 1 more fan and vista asked for key again, and he said it didnt work for some weird reason.

That is so fake.
upgrade away without a fear.
maybe if you upgrade, oh, your motherboard, ram, cpu, hard drive, dvd, and video at the same time then turn on your PC, then it might ask for product, but you can always fix that problem by calling microsoft.

I bet that there is about a 60% chance that the "reviewer" is a mac person and never tried windows vista.

No, this isn't true, i've had a Vista computer for almost a year and just recently upgraded my graphics card and it didn't ask me for the key again. If you install new hardware on Vista it won't do anything wierd like that, like not working for some reason. The only time you will ever need your key code is when you want to re-install windows, your whole entire computer.

You adding new hardware should not cause the operating system to ask you to reenter your registration key. And in the strange case that it does ask you for the key again, if you have the actually key that came with it you should have no problem.

one needs to find out from MS first... but it is a fact that you can only install Vista three times on any computer...then you have to buy another copy,, this I read in PC World magazine....

why don't you download Ubuntu Linux for free... it is a better operating system, it leaves Vista Premium in the dark ages.. to see what I mean goto you tube, do a search for Vista-Ubuntu. watch all the video clips...... plus all Linux software is free to download.. with over 125.000 software packages including games...

MS Vista will never catch Linux up. Vista is just bells and whistles

You pretty much have to reinstall the operating system for it to ask you to register it again. Based on my experience. Worst case you call the number it gives you if you have to register it, spend about 5-10mins talking to someone outside of the United States and get it re-registered. Its rather easy.
