There is a device here in the USA called Mailbug, which is a small keyboard and screen which doesn't need a computer. But having checked with them it is not available in the UK, however there must be something similar?

If you put a usb flash drive into a virus infected computer, will your flassh drive be infected? I have a 1gb sandisk cruzer mini. I will be working at a computer store, and I had virus scanner on it, I was wondering if I can plug this into a computer with a virus, and it wont get infected/corrupted.

I've got a Maxtor Hard drive that I use in an external enclosure. It's a ATA 120GB drive. I used to use it with my PC, but I recently switched to a macbook core2duo. I can read from the drive, but I can't write to it. I was wondering...how do I reformat the drive so I can use it to store files using both my macbook and PC? Do I use Disk Utility that comes with OSX and if so, which format? MacOS Extended, MacOS Extended (Journaled), MS-DOS File System, etc?

Thanks!

I have seen many different ways of cleaning a keyboard from using alchohol to putting it in the dishwasher. I would like to know if anyone actually damaged their keyboards by cleaning it. Such as removing lettering using rubbing alchohol. I just want to know what doesn't work.

I had a computer about 2 years ago that I bought brand new. Soon after I purchased it, I had to get it repaired as it simply wouldn't turn on. The diagnosis was that the motherboard was destroyed. It was replaced and I used the computer for a while after this. Until it happened again. The computer refused to turn on and again was diagnosed as the motherboard. Thinking that this was just a faulty machine, I bought a Dell and used that for a while, only for it to refuse to boot up one day. Strangely enough, it turned out the motherboard was destroyed again. Could this possibly be due to my power outlet or surge protector, or even the location of the computer? I don't know what a motherboard is or does (not extremely computer literate)... also don't know what causes a motherboard to break. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's the scenario: My computer got infected with some backdoor that infected the winlogon.exe file. Obviously I can't delete that. Online several sites tell me to stop the process "kernel32u.dll" or .exe but neither of those exist.

So I've decided that I need to save my files and wipe the hard drive. I need a program that will do that and I need a step by step as to how to go about it. I'd like something that is going to obliterate the HD by overwriting like 20 times.

My next problem is how then to get Windows back on the system. What would I need to do to get windows back on? Will I have to buy windows? I have the service pack 2 upgrade CDs but I don't think that will help me.

I look forward to all the help you can provide me.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a new system soon. I haven't upgraded my computer since 2002. I'm still using an XP 1800+ and a GF4.

I'm thinking about getting a E6600-based system right now, or wait yet another month for the Q6600 to drop in price, though it would still be more expensive than the E6600 now. I also haven't really played any games for a few years.

If you were me would you get a system now or wait?

I just went through a whole day of scannign and ridding my system of a Trojan virus. Everything is back to normal except for when I try to acess "Add/Remove Programs", "Display", "System", etc under Control Panel, I get a popup telling me C:/Windows/system/rundll32.exe cant not be found. So I can't access the folders and I did a search for that file on my computer and nothign came up.

Does this mean the best thing to do is reinstall Windows?

Okay, I'm only sixteen, so maybe I don't know exactly what love is yet. But i've never felt this way before... When I'm with him, I'm giddy and fun and I like how I am. And he always makes me laugh so hard.

I feel like he might like me too, but he's 4 years older than me. Am I stupid for thinking I have a chance?

I'm thinking about building a PC. What case should I choose that has the coolest temperature ratings?

- ATX Form Factor
- It should be easy enough to work with (big and lots of room)
- Relatively commonly sold
- No extremely overpriced
- Noise is not an issue

Currently I'm thinking about the Sunbeam Transformer.

What do you recommend and why?
