The catch is that you have to find either

A. A printable label that can go on top of the DVD

B. Get a $1,200 machine that print on top of your printable DVD-R

You would be better off keeping the DVD-R the way it is or buy one without the printable label but buy also a label that can go to any printer easily.

I am not sure what option are available for home or small office user printer that can accept printable DVD-R. I don't think there is one but I am open to know because I would like to get one for myself.

That's write, the recording surface is the same.
But the printable will go in an ink-jet printer.
That's to print directly on the top surface.
Rather than printing a separate sticky label.

The printable has a coating on one side that can be printed on by an ink-jet printer with the correct type tray to insert a CD.

The regular ne's surface wn't take the ink as well.... and the results of trying to feed it to your printer will be a mess.

"Write once" means that they are not re-writable and "burn at 2 depths on 1 side" means dual-layer.Twice the capacity of a single layer but you don't have to flip the disc over and burn the other side.
