I bought a computer 5 days back.We are using it for graphics design.While doing some work, its restarting automatically.

We are using Windows XP..

Configuration is 914 chipset motherboard
dual core processor 3.6
2 gb ram
512 mb graphics card
300 gb hard disk

I got an old computer from a friend thinking it would be a good intro to computers for my mum. It's been lying collecting dust for a couple of years and when i switched it on the lights flickered for a bit then gradually fizzled out.

It continues to do this but the lights seem to be stayin on a bit longer although the machine never properly powers up. I've tried blowing the dust out of it with a hairdryer!

Are there any other things i could be doing to help restore it to life or should i put it in the bin? It had been working fine by all accounts before its final switch off.

Hi i've been havin problems wit computers lately. its about the desk space and crap. mycomputer supose to have 40G of harddrive space but some how it lost 6G now its maxmim is 34.5 and i reinstalled windows hope to delete virus and programs so i can have my space back, but no it didnt work. it only reinstalled a new windows. the space its same. so now am always running out of deskspace. and the wierd thing is the desk space displayed on the C dosnt match wen i right cllck and check the space in the C i've right clicked and checke everthing in C and it add up no more than 7G and its C display i've already used 26G of space! can some one heklp me?

I've had my wireless mouse for about 2 years now and it's been acting up the past couple days by randomly not clicking or not moving the clicker on the monitor. I have replaced the batteries several times so I know for certain this is not what is wrong, and the wireless connector is fully inserted in my computer. My wireless keyboard is on the same connection so I know the connector isn't defective. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone has to offer

ok so i reinstalled my windows xp and now it uses partition D: and it only has 4gb and i want it to use partition C: because it has like 67gb!! please i really need to change which partition it uses because i cant install anything else!! please help me!!! thank you so much!!!!!

i bought the case(http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=372097) and the motherboard(http://techreport.com/reviews/2006q4/nforce680i/index.x?pg=1) seperately and i have no idea where to connect the power cords for the buttons on the case (that start the whole computer up) to the mother board. please help.thank you

I have a 40gb hard disk, using it as a secondary slave for data storage, however it shows 37.3gb and I tried formating it with FAT/NTFS even use Compression but same result.Can anyone help me please?

I am using a Fujitsu tablet PC. My hard disk is partitioned into c and d drives. I recently had to get a new hard drive. The old one was partitioned equally into 37.2GB sections, but this one is 40GB and 34.5GB.

But after I calculated all the space my folders are taking up, including the system folders and hidden folders, my com is still missing 1.8GB of space. Where has it gone? Only my c drive is being used and it is NTFS.

i have an Hp and well I got an virus and I reloaded my XP and now my graphics are all messed up...I seen a explamation point next to my graphic cand and it is set on the default monitor....I am not given any choices to even change the monitor, I need some assistant in fixing this problem. thanks

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505. It is set up with Windows xp media center. I want to set up my computer and tv so that i can watch dvds on my tv from my computer. I own a s video wire, but i don't know what else I need? Do I need a video card or would that have came with my computer? I really have no idea how to check this. i have windows i vista now, so i transferred all my old files from windows xp into windows vista. im just having problems loading programs that have 3D things in them. For example everytime i try loading a game, a msg comes up and talks about a video card driver not supporting the program. and it also says something about it running in software rendering mode. does anyone know what that means? i've tried getting help online and the help and support section. i've also tried upgrading this video card thing. but nothing is working..does anyone know how i can get my programs to work?
