Hi i've been havin problems wit computers lately. its about the desk space and crap. mycomputer supose to have 40G of harddrive space but some how it lost 6G now its maxmim is 34.5 and i reinstalled windows hope to delete virus and programs so i can have my space back, but no it didnt work. it only reinstalled a new windows. the space its same. so now am always running out of deskspace. and the wierd thing is the desk space displayed on the C dosnt match wen i right cllck and check the space in the C i've right clicked and checke everthing in C and it add up no more than 7G and its C display i've already used 26G of space! can some one heklp me?

you may have one of three problems. you have two different boot systems and when you format you don't delete NTFS formats. the second is you have a boot virus in which case you have to Do the FOLLOWING. 1 fdisk the drive while doing so see if it reports more than one volume either way fdisk the drive then reformat then reinstall software, that will get rid of all those problems and last The drive is going bad. get Norton disk doctor to look at it after you have reinstalled, but my guess you have a boot virus and a worm and a key logger combined doing this. Try and let us know if it helps.

The operating system most likely takes up the rest. Mac takes up probably 4 or 5, Windows is a bit more hefty and will probably take up that 5.5 GB you miss so much. The second calculation doesn't really add up....unless 26 is available. 7+6 = 13, 40 - 13 = 27 which is kinda close to 26.

So I guess it's fairly OK. If there's still a problem, post again.
