ok well this is a tedious process, but I do recommend that you do know what your doing because if you don't you can screw up a computer (trust me I speak from experience)...
each computer has a hard drive, now lets label these:

Old Hard Drive - HDA
New Hard Drive - HDB

Ok so put HDA into the new computer but you have to set it up as a slave (yes I did say slave and not in a sexual context either) but each computer is different cause you have to set up the hard drive with the connector on the back to be read as a slave... (which is different for each computer) once HDA is in the new computer be sure to find out the makers of the hard drive for HDB because of the fact that 99.9% of makers of hard drives make programs that'll allow you to transfter things in a breeze...

I hope this helps, it really can be a long tedious process if you don't know what your doing (even if people refuse to admit it to you)

But anyways in thanks I hope you'll take the time to check out my site, as I have a tools page that can help your computer run rather well all the tools that I recommend are free...

Data is not kept on the CPU. Use an external hard drive, or something else with removable storage.

The data is on the hard drive.

You can either copy the date from one to the other, or remove the drive from the old and put it in the new.

you could use an external hard drive to transfer, but you can also buy a cable from a electronics store. it connects the two cpus and can transfer files from your old computer to the new one.
