Whenever I play a game on my computer with or without the cd inserted this annoying high pitch noise starts from I think is the tower. As soon as I end the program the annoying noise stops, Is it a fan or something ?

My computer has recently began to turn off by itself.
Its usualy when im playing online games and burning a disc.
Ive heard about overheating problems on other sites but where would I find out if it's overheating.
It's driving me round the bend.

My CPU configuration is:
128MB RAM , 10 GB Hard Disk , 52 X CD ROM DRIVE , one LG CD ROM (DRIVE + WRITER), one FLOPPY DRIVE, 500 MHZ , INTEL CELERON processor , one LAN CARD , one INTERNAL 56K MODEM , two USB ports, few ADDITIONAL SLOTS .
my CPU is a branded COMPAQ CPU bought in 2000 march .

Desired CPU in Exchange with configuration :-
512MB RAM , 80 GB SATA Hard Disk , one COMBO drive with DVD & CD wrier, 2.5 GHZ X 2 , INTEL/AMD DUAL CORE processor , 64MB LATEST NVIDIA GRAPHICS CARD , two USB ports, few ADDITIONAL SLOTS .
please tell me if any one is interested , also tell the amount (additionally) i have to pay during the exchange , tell me some sites which help me to exchange my old CPU.PLEASE help me.

i recently built a new system and i am pretty sure the cpu is overheating. i installed speedfan which shows me the temp of the cpu, and when running cpu intensive programs, the cpu temp will get up to about 70 degrees C and then the computer auto shuts off. the fan seems to be working fine and i put thermal paste on it when i put the heatsink on. i have installed lots of computers before and never seen this problem.
any ideas?

I have installed NFS Carbon recently,its not knowing tht i hav installed a Graphic card in my comp,If i open the game,a Blurred screen is appear with no actual graphic ,only Squares & rectangles are in the place of game,totally its not working properly.My gaphic card is Nvidia Geforce MX 4000,128mb memory,i have a RAM of 640mb.Please give me a right solution..

Earlier today I was cleaning the screen of my gigabeat,so I took off the front casing of it, and cleaned all the dust and what not. However when I closed the front casing of the gigabeat back again, the songs and everything else worked perfectly, but the screen didn't illuminate or anything.If I hold it up to really bright light I can kind of see the screen, but I think that in the process of opening it up, I may have accidentally done something with the backlight.The lights on the side light up blue, but the display screen, doesn't light up at all.I know that everything else is in fine and working order, but what do I do with the screen?Should I try and fix it myself or take it to a best buy or circuit city for them to check it out and possibly fix?

Okay, I have no idea what the crap is wrong with my computer! It keeps telling me I have barely any disk space at all. I am a big Sims 2 player and I know my games slow my computer down, but I have 512MB of RAM, so this is ridiculous! I have deleted all unused and unwanted files and everything else I can think of. PLEASE HELP ME! What else can I do to make my computer faster and clear space? I am even defragmenting right now and I had the computer clean disk space!

I have a WD USB 80 GB external hard drive not accessible after reinstalling window XP. I tried that in my other pc and its not working there either now. It recognize by both computers but no drive letter appears. Reinstall WD drivers/software few times without luck.

I think something went wrong during OS reinstall while drive was attached. I am wondering, formatting internal drives cause any damage or would it be possible if I accidentally format external one too during the processs !

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Well my computers not working quite so well! my dad reinstalled windows and didn't put any protection on it...damn it's slow!! i think the computers infected!..it won't even do a Disk Clean-up...So is there anything that can fix it, even see what's on it there could be anything, only god knows. Thanks!!!!
