i wish to replace my power supply,

No. The "strength" of the power supply indicates how much power it could put out if there was a load using that much power. As long as the power supply is not so bulky that it can't fit into the PC then use as big a one as you want. It will give you more power in case you add more cards in the future but will not impact what the existing cards are doing. If you are not planning a major expansion of the computer then you need not add more power to what is there now.

No, installing a very powerful power supply will not do any damage to your system. It will only pull as much power as it needs.

But you would be wasting energy buying one that is too powerful for your system.

I would suggest looking at the total watts your current power supply puts out and then not exceeding that amount by more than 100 watts.

Nope. You can't hurt it. The power supply (a good one!) will only send the power that it needs.
