yes it does work im on a hp now with a dell monitor and a dell westrn hardrive and dell keyboard and mouse and dell printer so it does work together window detects it and loads the drives for them

Dells or any other computer can use other brand hard drives as long as it's a compatible format i.e. SATA, IDE etc.
