Ok, I need to know how to make it compatible with apple and windows . I can put stuff from my PC onto the external hard drive, and I can place stuff onto my friends apple. But I can't copy stuff from his computer to my hard drive. It says cannot modify this unit or something. Another friend said I had to change the hard drive to MS DOS or to FAT32...the only problem is...I cant, or, dont know how. I tried doing disk managment, security, all that, but only NTFS is there. How do I fix this? What do I need to do to be able to switch files from mac to pc?

because i have a USB mouse but i need that port fo my card reader. so i either need a hub, which i dont feel i can afford. cheapest is like 35 or 40 at best buy. so i thought if i can find a converter to go from USB to a mouse port that would work, but i can't find anything on best buy, furture shop or staples website.

I got a new computer a few months ago...
I got a new game for Xmas
The game will not play it's (Civilization 3)

It says I have to have: Hard Disk Space 1.7 GB Free to play it
I went to Disk Defrag and this is what it says:
Used space = 8.02 GB
Free space = 443 MB
(Percent Free Space = 5%)

Now this is what it says when I try to defrag: Volume (D) has only 5% free space. To run effectively disk defrafmenter requires at least 15% useable free space, there is not enough disk space. Delete some unneeded files on your hard disk and the try again.

BUT the computer was already like that when I bought it, it came saying that and only had 5% Hard Disk Space Free!
So what do I do, what do I need to remove to free up space and be able to play the game I bought?

I only have one other game installed on the PC and well I have like Yahoo Messenger and windows media player, and just the normal stuff!

I thought this would be easy, I thought wrong...I figured I had an empty port under my cd rom drive, but its covered after you take the plastic cover off with metal, and it doesnt come off...so I figured I would take out my regular cd rom drive, but I cant slide it out of the slot either...Is this even worth my time to mess with and can I used a dvd-r as my only rom drive?

I have recently bought a new Intel Core2Duo desktop. The processor is an E6400 from the DELL website.
I was wondering if its possible to switched to an E6700 processor? They should have the same sockets(LGA775, I believe), chipsets and since all the hardware is new, this new processor won't be "held back" in terms of performance, right?
I was also wondering if switching would be worth it? What really attracts me to the E6700 is the increased L2 Cache from 2MB to 4MB, and the speed, of course. Thanks for your help!

i'm not a techie, so i'm asking those who are... i don't need anything too fancy, but not anything too cheap, either... an affordable and simple yet efficient USB will do, for saving loads and loads of files...

$30 in Newegg, bracket included, supports up to 750GB

Rosewill RX353-S
http://www.rosewill.com/Product/product.aspx?productId=502
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817173040
Internal fan (reviews are ambivalent though), compact power adapter, bracket included; up to 500GB.

The OKGEAR OK350AU2S1-K looks like any other enclosure, except that it claims to support up to 1TB.

I already have a 320GB drive that I'll mount in, and am more concerned about portability (therefore the Rosewill AC adapter seems interesting).

Happy holidays!
