Most games up to now have been on cd. If you have a dvd player in your pc, it will play either. If you just have a cd player, it will not play the dvd game.

Dude plain and simple. Regular Cd's (750Mb) Dvd's (4700Mb) Most newer games are on Dvd's Cause they hold alot of more space than regular Cd's. Thats why Ps2 and Xbox put there games on Dvd's. Remeber when you had those old games that had damn near 3 to 4 disk in the package? All can be put on 1 Dvd now.

There's a lot more discs involved if it's on CDs rather than DVDs, that's the general difference.
In some cases, there are extra features packed with the DVD.

a real sport is obviously the decent launch version which you will discover in many retail shops, the place as a pretend/Pirated launch is obviously a duplicate of the decent launch yet oftentimes bought via application pirates at a less costly cost. paying for a pretend/Pirated launch is against the regulation no rely how decent the replica is or how low-cost that's.
