Sounds like you are referring to the PS2 port. Round, smaller than a dime, and have several pins holes on the bottom half of it.

It is usually cheaper to buy a PS2 mouse than to buy a USB to PS2 adaptor. So you might want to compare both options....

The mouse port is called a PS/2 port, and you should be able to get an adapter that the mouse will plug into, and the adapter plugs into the PS/2 port. Try a Radio Shack if there is one near you, or ask Staples or Office Depot. You might not find it on Staples website, but call around and ask for help with a USB to PS/2 adapter.

You need a ps/2--usb connector. Try a computer shop like computer renaissance or a locally owned computer repair place. They come with a mouse when you buy one, but if that is what you need you probably will find it at a local store. Radio Shack may carry them as well--but it may be cheaper to buy a $10 mouse that has the adapter in it.

PS/2 port. To get a USB to PS/2 adaptor, try eBay. They also have "dirt-cheap" USB hubs on eBay. But since it's a USB mouse, you really need a hub unless you want to buy another mouse.

those are legacy ports from the former days the position you may conect previous instruments lined the former male 9 pins with the help of way of un adapter, yet those previous instruments are sluggish study with USBs or firewire, and in case you want extra USB you should use a 8 port hub.

that would be a PS/2 port. most recent computers no longer have it, so check first if you have one.

another option is for a wireless mouse, but there's the cost to consider for that.. (although eBay has cheap ones).

you need a USB to PS2 converter. The old round style DIN connector is commonly referred to as PS2. Hope this helps...
