A theme is a series of files that are connected to a central file (i.e. the Aqarium Theme has icons, screensavers, sounds, and cursors). Desktop usually has just a main background picture (you can set it to whatever pic you want) and also some icons (which can be manually adjusted in display settings). A screensaver is the "moving" picture that is displayed when the computer has not been accessed for a certain amount of time (this can be set anywhere from 1minute up to 99minutes), and only displays if you select to run.

Themes are related sounds and display properties related to the windows, menus and so on...
Desktop is the 1st think u see when u open ur pc, on which u will find the different icons and the start button and the taskbar.
Screen saver are used to display some funny designs when u leave ur computer for a certain time, it's up to the user to specify after how much time, the screen saver start to work.

Themes are your color schemes, boot up screens etc....you can check out some neat XP themes at http://www.belchfire.net

Desktops are the pictures and icons you see when windows boots up. They are also considered to be themes, you can change them to whatever you like.

Screensavers are the things that appear when your computer has been idle for a set period of time. These can be changed and set to appear after any given time of non-use

hope this helps

Desktop is what you see when you are fully booted up. Themes are wallpaper, can be background on your desktop. Screen saver comes on after a certain amount of time computer has been idle and they usually have some motion. Find the themes and screen savers under ControlPanel, then Display.
