I just permanently deleted something from my harddrive, but I want to know if there is a program or something that can recover it - I have not added or remove anything else from my HD since then!

everyone_utki you obviously missed college or something - if you understand how FAT works you would know that only the header of files would be deleted, not the actual files itself. Only if you "shred" the file then they are actually deleted...

First off, don't waste time with System Restore. It does just that: RESTORES THE SYSTEM! System Restore doesn't touch your files, so those that are deleted won't magically reappear. (Although folders that were previously deleted tend to show back up, but they're always empty, since the files in them are either where you put them or deleted.)
I don't know of any free file recovery programs, but I use Search and Recover to retreive deleted items.

there are many good programs available to recover deleted files. just find the one that is easy for you and use it.
undelete is a good one and it is free.

if you deleted something from your hard drive, the best thing to do at this point is to run a system restore, this will put the system back to it,s original configuration, this should correct this issue.

try system restore to a date just b4 u deleted whatever it was

No pal there is no such program to recover if you have permanently deleted.but once check the recycle bin to find out if it is there
