^ here is a link to the mother board I am thinking of getting.

I don't know what other mother boards are I can get at the shop that is going to build my PC. I am going with 2GB 800MHz of standard ram no high performance ram.

I am not going to use any special hard drive things like Raid 0 or what ever its called. I'm also not going to overclock anything. The rest of the PC's hardware has not been 100% conformed either.

I know I am going to get the x1600 Pro video card or a card that is a little better. I got a nice real aluminium case to go with it.

Question one? I heard this mobo has a bad rap but then if its this troublesome why does the tech at the shop recommend it?

Question two? Whats the deal with that weird Orange tube that looks like liquid cooling on the board?

Question three? I'm going with dual AMD64 4200+
Processors where do they go on the board?

More info to come asap. probably 2 mins or so

I bought quake 2 the other day, now when i start up my computer, it makes this little viZZZzzzz noise, then everything on my computer goes reallly slow or frezes for a minute or 2, i cant see why, my computer is built by me and i sisnt do anything whrong in there, and doom 3 runs just fine, it makes this noise every time a direx x or open GL object comes on screen, likebattlefield 2, and even an empty 3DS max scene, untill i uninstall it, even then it takes a week for it to wear off! here are my system specs:

1.5 Gb of RAM
450W power supply
80Gb IDE Samsung hard drive
320 Gb SATA Western Digital hard drive
ASUS "Kelut" motherboard (uncommon)
ATI Radeon X800 GTO from Sapphire Tech
Linksys WMP 54 G wireless B/G card
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ at 2.1 GHZ
Samsung DVD-ROM only dvd player
Philips DVD-RW (burns everything,cd's and DVD's)

Im not %100 sure, but i think its the power supply, the noise is comming from my SATA Hard drive, and is also made when i attach another drive.

Because we have lots of power failures where I live, I bought a UPS as I understood that if you run your computer through it, you'll get a constant supply of smooth power, so when there's a power failure, you'll at least have a few minutes to save your work and close your computer down properly.
But this UPS switches off and on for just a fraction of a second when there's a power failure - just enough for me to lose my modem connection and for my computer to turn off and start rebooting. I thought's wrong so I took the UPS back to the store, they supposedly sent it for repairs, but now it's back and I think it's the same as it was. I'm hesitant to test it on my computer, so I tested it with an ordinary 60 watt reading lamp. I first charged the UPS overnight, and now if I simulate a power failure by turning off the switch at the wall, the reading lamp flicks off and on for just a second before it starts running on the UPS.
Is the UPS faulty, or is this really the way it works?
