I don't know about from a manufactor but I usually get it from a little computer shop in town and put it in myself, ring around a bit to get the cheapest price, really easy to fit though.
Don't forget to earth yourself, don't want any static elec. shorting out your motherboard. good luck!

If you're talking about the COMPUTER manufacturer like Dell or HP,etc...Then yes you can buy RAM from them, but keep this in mind...OEM companys will typically charge you from 25-30% more for "their" branded RAM, CD-ROM's etc than what you might pay pay on the "open" market.

You can go by a local computer shop and usually if you get some RAM that doesn't work in your system, you can take it back and exchange it until you get a piece that works for your system....

The other advantage of buying from a local store is that they usually keep a limited amount of stock on hand, so their inventory is more fluid, since they order more often, and closer to what the "market" price is currently, since RAM is a commodity like gold or silver...The price today might be a dollar...Tomorrow, it might be $1.05...or it might be $0.95....See what I mean?

But ordering directly from the RAM manufacturer....Unless you're a distributer, or Best Buy....The answer here is NO...

i am getting tired of seeing people being nasty too users who are only asking a question,(top answer)...i would just ignore them mate....probally drunk
anyway with regards to ram,it would be cheaper to go to a local pc shop,i build old pc,s for fun and i allways buy sdram, ddr ram, and i can get a 512mb ddr 3200 module for £22,so by the time you pay postage from a manufacturer and they will probally convince you to let them install it ,you are looking at £100
a ram upgrade takes around 5 minutes and is the easiest upgrade to do,remember to use a anti-static wristband(around £5
to buy)
tip....when upgrading ram ,its allways best to try increasing by 50% i.e current ram 512mb after increase...768mb ram
good luck

You can buy either brand name or generic RAM from a computer shop. No need to go to the manufacturer.

you could no longer in basic terms take this flippantly, as there re MANY diverse concerns to do no longer ignore: First, you could desire to appreciate the way lots RAM your motherboard can help. in case you have got a recognition employer (Dell, HP, and many others.), you will stumble on the respond on their information superhighway internet site. If now no longer, then see what sort of motherboard you have got, and study from there. 2nd, you could desire to realize what sort of RAM is physically powerful on your motherboard. some forms of RAM (RDRAM, case in point) might desire to be fastened in PAIRS.. third, you could desire to realize if further unused RAM on the board will reason ti malfunction. if so, you will use a contiunuity chip even nonetheless of actual having a RAM chip unused. those are in basic terms countless the questions you want to have spoke back till now to putting in extra effective RAM.

Most if not all Manufactors don't sell directly to the public...so NO...but you can go to say New Egg http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Category.asp?Category=17
and order what you need...if you don't know what kind of memory your motherboard uses then go here---> http://www.crucial.com/
and use there memory Advisor and it will scan your computer's configuration and tell you what type it uses...you can also order from them (Crucial) if you want...but newegg will more than likely be cheaper. Hope that helps more than the first smart@ss answer you got...

Hi. You do mean ram?
Any good computer shops will stock ram, what kind of computer do you have?, laptops are different, but with an ordinary desktop computer its easy to fit it yourself, I have built my own computer and have to say my local computer shop had everything I needed, with no need to use any manufaturer.

Not unless you're a bulk reseller these days I think. I'd try www.aria.co.uk next Friday as it's one of their Rush Hours, last one they had I bought 2 256Meg PC3200 DDR2 sticks for £5.95 a piece + p&p...

No, not normally. RAM is cheap nowadays anyway.

Normally its passed a few companies, before you can buy anything. normally its;

Manufacturer
Distributor
Retailer.

Distributors sell toThe retailers in bulk, so unless you want 10,000 of them, then no. visit your online pc supplier.
