I have a Dell Inspirion 5150 - I left it on while running on the battery only and it shut itself down. I then plugged it in for 2 days and it won't power back on. I also popped out the battery and repopped it back in. Any thoughts as to how I can get it to power up?

Got a new Sony Vaio FJ290, it comes with the Intel Chipset, I want to upgrade to say Nvidia, or ATI, or whatever... And I was told today no dice, not possible, please tell me that guy was full of crap.

I run on windows xp (Dell Inspiron 600m - Notebook)
The external drive i bought was a "My Book" (80 GB)
My current drive for my book is K, but i also have F, G, H, and J
Also a similar thing happened when I added a new disc drive, it shows the new one but it also showes the old one.

Someone Please help me!!!

Prefer to spend less than 500 bucks, Speed isnt as important as reliability. Its just a machine that i can use to download music and use Im and email while at work.

The internal power supply has shorted out. It still works fine on battery power. It is the internal, not external, powersource, that is gone.

Is this part of the case, or the motherboard, or a separate power unit?
How much might repair be?
Is it worth it to fix it, or should I scrap it and sell it for parts?

(I have already replaced it, but thought if feasible, would have it fixed for one of my kids)

Hi,
I have a Radeon 9200 series graphics card in my PC that I use for a certain game, but would really like to buy a laptop instead. I'm assuming that laptops wouldn't have this type of card pre-installed (unless I get an expensive one!), but can I install my old one on my laptop?

I know nothing about such things, so if you need more info about anything, let me know...

I have a dell d400 laptop, works fine in all aspects except when I play a DVD or try to listen to music, its sounds like a record skipping. It also does this when I listen to internet music, not using the DVD drive. Is this a sound card problem or wrong drivers maybe...? clueless
