I have an option of buying 830 euros worth one year old used toshiba p30 with 100 GB,512 RAM,!7 inch mnitor,3.2 GHz processor,P4 windos Xp, working in gud condition, with DVD writer,The person is my friends friend.the price also includes a carry bag and mini optical mouse . what do u suggest ?

If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know as I really need this laptop for my school work. The laptop has a CD drive and like I said it is in the docking bay so when I use the floppy as the start up disk to run fdisk and all it doesn't recognize the CD drive so doesn't load the drivers for it so I can run setup from the cd to put the system on it.

its a dell, replaced the mother board a year ago cause I fried it. But it recently started getting pretty hot really quickly, even then its hovering over open space. I cleaned the fans and heat sink, blown the insides clear of dust, but the problems still remain.

What could be going on, and how do I fix this?

I have a Gateway notebook that started having problems and required me to return to the warehouse to be repaired. Gateway received my notebook on May 19th and as of today, June 5th, they are telling me the same thing. Call back in 3 business days. This is bullcrap. All they needed to do was to replace a cable for the LCD screen. I only had the notebook about 5 weeks before the problem occured. What can I do to get my notebook back? How long can a repair shop take without some type of intervention?

After my laptop has been running about 2 hours a message always pops up. "services.exe-application error" then it says the memory could not be "read". if i press ok or cancel it then says system shut down in 1min, then the laptop always restarts.I have changed the memory, and it still continues to do this. If anyone knows what the problem could be please help me out and tell me how to fix it. thanks

I am a grad student who knows a little about compuers, but not much (if you look at my history, you will see that I had a hell of a time with spyware and it took me a while to get it off), anyway, I want a mac because it is not as vulnerable as PCs as far as viruses, etc. Where can I get them a bit cheaper without skipping out on quality? Which do you recommend? If I get a laptop, shoudl I get MacBook or MacBook Pro?
