I've been thinking of getting a Mac notebook.. small problem, i've never had a large amount of time to use the OS.

I plan to use it for school, so my question is what kind of software does the OS can run to help in my schoolwork?

I have already tried system analyzer and bios agent, and niether one of them showed me the bios ID. I have !!Already Tried!! using the "Pause Break" key during the system startup (with quiet boot disabled like it should be when this is supposed to work) and when I press the key the bios ID is not displayed. I have Phoenix bios 4.0 revision 6. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best answer will be the first person, if any, to provide advice that works.

According to previous post on this problem the solution is to check the Bios battery and clock crystal on the mother board. Well that's good to know but now I need a step by step procedure on how to proceed... Where can point and click my cursor to get the proper result that I needed. In the meantime, can I just leave my laptap on all the time so I do not have to go through the hassle of the error messages that i'm getting and hoping that will still reboot?! Please give me some advice as to what to do with this problem. As far as getting it fix (how much?) or just plain getting a new? Thank you in advance for your replies!!!

The Battery has never held a charge for longer than 15 mintues and I actually had to remove the batter for the computer to even run last week. Now the computer shuts off in the middle of anything you do. Sometimes it will start back up and other times it wont for a couple hours or sometimes days. Any ideas or suggestions as to what the heck is going on here with it?

I decided it would be great fun to throw water over my keyboard yesterday. Today, everything works fine except for space bar, b, n, alt, control. I went at it with a hairdryer, does anyone have any other recommendations? Could it still recover a few days after the incident?
