I would suggest going to some place like home depot, or other electrical store. On the wire there should be anumber like 16, or 14. Probably a 16. What you want is a wire coupler, that you push both ends into, not the traditional styyle that you screw on. Explain it to the guy, he should know what you need. Basically its a tube with a hole at each end. Make sure you cut out like 3 or 4 inches from where your dog chewed, just incase he knicked some of the other part of the wire, that could be bad.anyways strip like 1/4 inch of wire and then shove them in, and take a pair of plyers and crush the coupler. Then take some elctrical tape and tape starting about an inch back and then an inch past.

This is not a big deal as long as you keep the polarity correct. Often polarity is noted by a thin white line on one of the wires, while other times it is the color of the inner wire inside the sheath. You do need to make sure there is no chance of the wires touching each other. one way to do this is to perform the splices at different positions so they do not overlap when you tape them with black tape.
FYI, if it is only the cable between the outlet and the transformer and it looks just like the power cord for a PC or monitor, just replace it. They are cheap.

I would REALLY recommend going out and buying the cabling that you need to join, new.
Computers can get very hot inside - I wouldn't want to see a fire start if you left your machine on and went off to work.

Just solder them. You can buy a solder machine for about 45 bucks.

It is seriously not worth your time to try and fix it. Just go buy a new one.

buy a new one.
if you don't do it right there's a very good chance you'll start a fire, or give yourself a nasty shock, or destroy your laptop.
