It's a new computer and I just turned it on and realized the sound isn't working. I tried turning it up but it didn't work, does anyone know why this is happening or how I can fox it?

OK simple stuff first. see the speaker icon by the clock ? double click it to open the settings box. are the mute boxes checked on anything? are the volume sliders slid all the way to off ?? if that is not it then try this, start/right click on my computer choose properties/hardware tab/device manager/look for sound video, game controllers and expand it do you see audio driver listed at all ? if you do look at name like it could say hauppauge audio driver, or sound blaster etc.. go to the website for the manufacturer and get the newest drivers. if you do not see listed at all then grab your install discs and install the audio drivers. if it is really new call the toll free help number for the company have them guide you.

make sure u dont have "mute" button checked or pressed on your keyboard somewhere...

If it's unmuted and still no sound.... then try re-installing your sound card drivers that come in a cd with your computer...

or take it back to the store if ur laptop is still in its "14 day warranty"
