If you are going to delete your previous install of Windows, you do not need admin rights on the old system. If you plan to install a new copy of windows into and existing file system admin rights will be required. If you want to keep both, but use seperate file systems you can resize your file system and repartition your harddrive. System Rescue CD would be a good tool for resizing and repartioning your harddrive in prep for installing a new OS while maintaining the old one.

Yes Reinstall operation may require Admin rights if you are starting the setup from Windows XP.

If you are reinstalling from Bootable CD, then you don't require this.

yes, depending on the software right given by the IT admin., some computers or laptop have installed by their IT with limited rights to avoid illegal download or in accesing company system. you have to refer this to your IT management regarding your laptop rights

the laptop you got from work?....it shouldn't matter where you got the laptop....you could have gotten the laptop in Spain and you would still be able to install Windows....

no, if you are reinstallin git, then itwill start eerything over again, just boot from the cd
