Actually Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and Illustrator work find with MacBook or MacBook Pro. But of course MacBook Pro is faster. I don't think it can upgrade. If the cost is important, you can stick with MacBook with the application you have.

Although I may be wrong, I have hear that the Macbook can be upgraded fairly easily. So you could probably replace the memory modules, Notebook harddrive and perhaps even the CPU (Since it does use Core Duo)

The Mac Minis can have their Core Solo processors replaced with a Macbook Pro's top of the line CPU so I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same for the Macbook.

However the Macbook has onbored Graphics and so I would reccomend the Macbook Pro if you need 3D intensive apps.

Check out the specs of both and see which nonreplaceable parts would suit you best. (IE drive bays and slots for Cards)

Just food for thought, how about picking up a nice G4 17" powerbook. It's a work horse, runs everything you want (I use everything you listed on mine).

I would suggest keeping an eye out for someone who is dumping theirs (that has a couple of years of AppleCare left) and save a few bucks. Not to mention it would give Apple a few years to get the bugs out.

Remember even a G4 can slum (run windows)

I love my macbook! It's really simple to upgrade the memory and hard drive.
