I don't know what I have done, but the flashing cursor from the screen on my computer seems to have disappeared making it really hard to alter spelling mistakes etc in my essays. I have an Acer Aspire laptop running Windows XP. Any suggestions?

Thanks very much everyone for your quick responses. I have worked it out now!

It wasn't the pointer that had disappeared but the cursor to show me where I was up to whilst typing or editing, you know the little flashing line thing ( | ) and it was because I had changed a background colour. So simple and yet so annoying!!
I can't close the question now until tomorrow but it is sorted so no-one else need answer. Thanks again!

Go into the control panel and click the "mouse" icon. Go to the "pointers" tab and under the "schemes" pull down select Windows Default. Hopefully this will return your coursor to what you are use to seeing.

You can also try some of the other schemes to see if you find one you like better.

go to www.smileycentral.com you can download this tool bar and there will be a little blue cursor, click on it and you can change your cursor to a lot of things from swords to eight balls, you can even get really colorful normal cursors, try it out

Have you checked to see if your mouse is plugged in?
