It's tellin you that you have a 256 MB module in each U5 and U6 slots. making a Total of 512 MB.

Need more information. You have told the slot info, good. But, you have not told the system model no.

Anyways, This tells you that you have two sticks of 256 MB of RAM installed in slots U5 and U6.

Out of this 512 (256 x 2) MB, your Operating system will get 384 Mb of effective RAM space. The remaining memory could be consumed by your graphics card or by some enhanced memory configuration(s).

Memory modules are the memory chips in your computer. They look like this.

Slot U5 and U6 are the slots they are in. they should add up to 512MB (256+256)

But, you said there is 384 MB installed so 128MB must be shard with the video

Main memory and video memory are shared. The video memory is subtracting 128MB from the 512MB.

Basically it's telling you that you have 512MB RAM (memory) on your system.
