Got a new Sony Vaio FJ290, it comes with the Intel Chipset, I want to upgrade to say Nvidia, or ATI, or whatever... And I was told today no dice, not possible, please tell me that guy was full of crap.

The guy was right. You cannot change/upgrade the graphics card on your laptop because it doesn't come with one. The Intel chipset which is built into the system board is your graphics controller cannot be upgraded.

no you cant in a laptop but i think you can get something for it
but its hard too find the places too get stuff like that .... and try with a tower u have more things too play with and u can upgrade all you want .. good luck

Ya, kinda sucks because that controller isn't real fast, but you're stuck with it.
