It means the laptop uses DDR2 (fastest available) memory sticks of RAM.

That just means that the ram installed in the laptop will be in the form of 2 SoDIMMs. On laptops there is usually only 2 memory slots, so when buying memory you have to factor that in because you can buy 2 256MB SoDIMMs and get 512MB, or you can buy 1 512MB SoDIMM, so you would have one slot available for future ram upgrades.
