I'd say it depends on what you need to do. BUT, I prefer Intel processors for laptops. Someone said that AMD processors run hotter than Intel, they do. And AMD processors are not as power efficient as Intel when it comes to mobile processors. That being said, AMD has a dual core 64-bit Turion processor for laptops. This means you can run 64-bit applications but note that there aren't many, save for Windows x64 and some versions of Linux. That being said, many programs are not supported under 64-bit environments, those that use 16-bit installers for example. Most computers with 64-bit processors just come with Windows XP home or Pro (32-bit) which is fine and what I reccommend, only you can't run 64-bit programs in that case (again, not many out there).

Now we come down to it. It turns out that the Core Duo processors from Intel are faster and more efficient than the AMD Turion 64x2. You decide, but I'm sold on Intel as far as laptops are concerned. Note, I still prefer AMD when it comes to desktops because AMD desktop processors still crush Intel. Intel has caught up in the mobile world, it'll be a while before I trust my desktop to one.

AMD's are the best they are way ahead of Intel. and the duel cores run really cool. I built my computer and it has a duel core so I would know. defiantly go with AMD.
and 64 means that the processer uses 64 bit drivers

AMD Processors are good I tend to like intel....just because AMD runs a little bit hotter.
a single core processor is 32 bit....Now they have 64 bit processors which is like two processors in one...so it is a good thing. also keep in mind the GHZ on the processeorI would go 2.8 or higher but then again it all depends what you want to use it for.

AMD are great, in fact the best processor for labtops if you want to use it for gaming and entertaiment.

64 bit is ever better because it provides multitasking and you can have a whole bunch of programs running and it still will not freeze.

whilst i offered my modern-day computing gadget the saleman stated me that the only disadvantage to an AMD processor advance into warmth. As for the Turion processor, it has no onboard cache. The Intel center 2 Duo will carry out lots greater effective for you.
