But would ya recommend a 3.2Ghz AMD A2 or a 3.0Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo? and other recomendations? im planning on using this for some games, and multimedia like movies and burning

I'm going to purchase a gaming computer and was looking at a number of different options when I realized that this was a possible resource of information and could help me in my decision.

I'm willing to spend anywhere from 5,000 to 7,000 for this gaming PC. Since this is such a high purchase I want to make sure that I look at all possibilities. I'm not willing to build it myself, for a number of reasons, and want to make sure that it is under warranty and of course that it is of the highest quality.

I have been looking hard into the high end Dell XPS gaming computers and have been told that they are good. MY MAIN QUESTION IS, WHAT ARE SOME OTHER COMPANIES OUT THERE THAT BUILD QUALITY GAMING PCs. And any other information that you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Im using an on-board sound card & I think theres something wrong with it. It is not my speakers prob as I've tested it using my i-pod. My sound just stop playing all of a sudden. Especially when playing games or watching videos. My motherboard is P4i65GV.

PS. this problem started about 2 months ago. I could still get the sound to project but now it completely died.

I have just purchased a brand new hp pc with windows ultimate. I disagree with the commercials the security does not bother you all the time it keeps you protected with out bothering you. Everthing is prefect with ton's of features that are easy to use. Why is appel lieing. Windows has awsome glass like tool bars. Mac looks confusing and hard to use. One of the commercails said that macs sales or going off the roof, but I don't know anyone with a mac. Everyone has a pc. I'm not saying that pc is better, I'm just saying that mac is making pc look like **** when pc obviously has the upper hand.

my friend has one of those slim line HP computers, and they leave it on all the time. well recently they went to use it and the screen was black and stayed black, so they held the power button in to turn it off and now it won't turn back on. i tried to go through it, cleaned it out, and looked for anything that might have caused it but didn't find anything. there was a jumper to clear the CMOS, but i didn't want to mess with that till i knew exactly what it did. the computer is running Windows XP Media Center edition 2005. any tips or ideas on what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I can't seem to get the 3.5 hard drives in their places. I've been trying for over a hour on just that part. Any ideas? I'm not even sure what screw it is, even though I've tried them all.

Also, do I not turn on the fan in the cage that holds my hard drive?

Should i go with vista or windows xp professional. I'm thinking windows xp professional seeing how they offer it. Finally which processor Intel duo 6750 or quad 6600. Quad is more so i'm thinking 6750. Finally plan on going with 2 gb and 500mb harddrive. Oh they do offer windows xp media if i wanted that.

While I monitor the the motherboard & CPU temp in BIOS, it takes 10 min for my CPU to go from 52°F to 204°F and my motherboard to go to 82°F. I assumed my original Intel 775 heatsink was not adequate so I bought the best of the best to cool my CPU. According to www.anandtech.com, the best coolers for my CPU which I bought are: (1) Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme heatsink, (2) Scythe Flex SFF21F (1600 rpm) 3-pin fan. I spread the thermal paste on top of my CPU and at the bottom of the heatsink. I then plugged the 3-pin fan into the CPU fan connector on the MOBO. Because the MOBO has a 4 pin header and the fourth pin is for the PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation), I left the 4th pin open and set the BIOS setting for fan mode to DC (the other mode is PWM) Here are my specs: ASUS P5GDC-V deluxe MOBO, Intel 775 3GHZ processor, 1 GB RAM. I have the latest BIOS update 1011. I swapped the CPU with a new CPU & it still happens. I even tried Artic silver thermal paste. What the heck is going on?

I'd be using it for very light gaming (Warcraft 3, Counter-Strike 1.6) and some light Photoshopping. What I'd use it for most is watching videos (using MPlayer) like TV Shows, Movies and the like.

Would I see a humongous difference? Or is it negligible enough for me to go with the cheaper Celeron 3.46ghz system? I'm also looking for upgradeability. So I'd end up upgrading to a Core 2 Duo (probably a 2 or 3 ghz model) when I had the money.

Can anyone give me good links to BIOS help sites or tell me what to do?
