Your question is a little confusing, in that when you develop a web site you store all of the work on the computer you use, Thru the software you use to design it. Microsofts Front Page.
Dreamweaver, and there are severel out there that are know as What You See Is What You Get. These are very easy to use and Yahoo's geocities is one with there Pagemaker Software.
Or you type in the URL to get a website to come up on your Desktop like the link below.
http://geocities.yahoo.com/home/
Using the software to develop and design the site wil place it on your Desktop when you, SAVE, or SAVE AS,
Then Publish the site to your Domain's address on your Web Hosts URL.

Right click on your desktop, choose Properties. Click the Desktop tab, then click Customize Desktop. There will be 2 tabs: General and Web. Click Web.

If you have no website specified yet, click New and follow the prompts to add your home page or any other web page. You can add several and switch between them any time.
